Description
The name suggests a sun god and something burning, but the blade is green: mottled acid and moss, with brown and dull pink blooms clouding the lower half, closer to lichen on stone than to fire. The guard and grip are black, the hands are the game’s own in their black fingerless gloves. The M9 Bayonet is the fighting knife the US Army adopted in 1986, and paired with its scabbard it works as a wire cutter.
The view model holds 2144 polygons against the stock knife’s 1040, on 40 bones, under thirteen textures. Three are the hand maps, at 252×123, 124×126 and a skin map of 252×255, five pixels taller than the one the game ships; the other ten split the knife into parts, among them 200×989 and 204×1001 strips for the two faces of the blade and a 128×298 map for the pommel. There is no chrome map. The idle runs 360 frames, the draw 30 and the stab 36. What other players see was rebuilt at 1512 polygons where the stock third-person knife has 112, and the nine knife sounds come with the archive. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
