Description
A white blade with a thin grey tracery over the lower half, drawn like the tracks of a printed circuit, and a bright green bar set into the fuller. Small lettering runs along the spine, the point is left plain, and a little emblem is stamped on the guard plate. The M9 Bayonet is the fighting knife the US Army adopted in 1986, and paired with its scabbard it works as a wire cutter.
The view model holds 2818 polygons against the stock knife’s 1040, on 40 bones, under fourteen textures. Three are the game’s own hand maps at 252×250, 124×126 and 252×123; ten more take the knife apart, with 200×989 and 204×1001 strips for the two faces of the blade, a 68×800 strip for the grip and a 232×103 map for the inside of the ring; and a 64×64 chrome map adds the mirrored sheen GoldSrc fakes on metal. The idle runs 360 frames, the draw 30 and the stab 36. What other players see was rebuilt at 1512 polygons where the stock third-person knife has 112, and the nine knife sounds are in the archive. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
