Description
The blade is nearly black along the spine and clouded with deep teal and blue-green smoke that gathers around the fuller and thins towards the point; the sawteeth behind the ricasso stay dark. The hands wear bright green sport gloves with a grey web pattern over the back and lettering across the knuckles, and the M9 Bayonet itself is the fighting knife the US Army adopted in 1986, which works as a wire cutter when locked into its scabbard.
The view model holds 18,590 polygons against the stock knife’s 1,040, on 38 bones, under thirteen textures. Ten of them are separate pieces of the knife rather than one atlas: tall 200×989 and 204×1001 strips for the two faces of the blade, a 68×800 map for the grip, and smaller files for the guard, the ring and the pommel. Two more redo the glove at 544×547 and the arm at 340×519, and a 64×64 chrome map adds the mirrored sheen GoldSrc fakes on metal. The idle runs 360 frames, the draw 30, each slash and stab 36. What other players see was rebuilt to 1,512 polygons where the stock third-person knife has 112, and nine knife sounds ship with the archive. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
