Description
Bare gold with no pattern on it at all: the blade, the sawback teeth and the ricasso are one polished yellow metal, and the light slides along the fuller in a single band. The guard, the crossguard ring and the grip stay black, and small stamped lettering survives on the ricasso. The M9 Bayonet is the fighting knife the US Army adopted in 1986, and paired with its scabbard it works as a wire cutter.
The view model holds 2818 polygons against the stock knife’s 1040, on 40 bones, under fourteen textures. Three are the game’s own hand maps at 252×250, 124×126 and 252×123; ten split the knife into pieces, among them 200×989 and 204×1001 strips for the two faces of the blade and a 68×800 strip for the grip; and a 64×64 chrome map adds the mirrored sheen GoldSrc fakes on metal, which is what keeps the gold from looking flat. The idle runs 360 frames, the draw 30 and the stab 36. What other players see was rebuilt at 1512 polygons where the stock third-person knife has 112, and the nine knife sounds come with the archive. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
