Description
The blade is scarlet and glossy enough for the red to read as lacquer over steel, with a black dragon drawn along the flat and its tail trailing back into the sawback teeth. The hands wear olive gloves printed with comic-book lettering and crossed by a red strap. The M9 Bayonet is the fighting knife the US Army adopted in 1986, and paired with its scabbard it works as a wire cutter.
The view model holds 16,626 polygons against the stock knife’s 1040, on 38 bones, under fifteen textures. Two 512×512 files cover the gloves and a third the forearm, so nothing of the game’s own hands is left; ten more carve up the knife, with 200×989 and 204×1001 strips for the two faces of the blade. Two small 64×64 files sit alongside them, the size GoldSrc uses for its mirrored-metal trick, though neither is named chrome. The idle runs 360 frames and the draw 30. What other players see was rebuilt at 1512 polygons where the stock third-person knife has 112, and the nine knife sounds ship with the archive. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
