Description
A frontier town built entirely from flat pixel art, taken from the arcade western of the same name. Two-storey timber buildings with clapboard walls and covered balconies line a sand street, one of them carrying a saloon sign over its porch. The props are as blocky as the buildings: stacks of pale blue crates, rows of pink barrels roped in green, a green-painted fence and a striped awning on posts. One shot looks down the street from a balcony, another stands in it between the crates and the barrels, and a third looks over a railing at the roofs. The horizon behind the town is a jagged pixel mesa under a plain blue sky, with no attempt at realistic light.
The map measures 1656 × 1856 × 632 units, a small block of streets where cs_assault covers 4000 × 4288 × 1216. Ten spawns per side seat 20 players. Geometry comes to 4,185 faces and 44 textures, none of them packed into the .bsp, so the town carries more surfaces than cs_assault at 3,206. What lies on the ground is shotguns and almost nothing else: 30 XM1014s, 27 M3s and six HE grenades, which fixes the range the map is played at. There are no bomb sites and no hostages, buy zones are unmarked so the engine sets them at the spawns, and a player equip entity hands out a starting kit of its own. Three non-solid pieces do the detailing, and the archive ships the sg_sunsetrider texture set.
