Description
A block world rebuilt inside the engine: everything, down to the grass, is made of cubes with pixel textures. The arena is a flat green meadow ringed by a wall of grey blocks, and the buildings stand around its edge, a wooden house with a plank roof and a fenced porch, a cobblestone hut with a pool of water sunk into its roof, a small stone tower with a fire pit at its foot. Cube trees on bare trunks stand between them, and there are dirt beds framed with planks, a shallow pond, a picture hung on a wall and chests set out on the grass. The sky is flat blue with white blocky clouds, and the whole map is in plain daylight. The look copies a well known sandbox game rather than anything in Counter-Strike.
The map measures 2752 × 2144 × 736 units. 16 counter-terrorist and 16 terrorist spawns seat 32 players, and buy zones are marked for both teams. There are no bomb sites and no hostages. Despite the knife-arena prefix, guns lie on the ground: an AWP, a Scout, an AK-47, an AUG, an M249, an SG 552, a TMP, a MAC-10, two XM1014s, four HE grenades and six smoke grenades, and two game_player_equip entities hand out gear on spawn. All those cubes cost geometry: 5,753 faces and 44 textures, 38 of them packed into the .bsp, which puts the face count above de_dust2 (5,383 faces) on a far smaller footprint. Two water brushes fill the pond and the rooftop pool. The player can break 16 objects, climb one ladder and walk through two non-solid pieces, and 18 sprite entities carry the small details. Besides the map the archive installs a sprite folder and one more file in the maps folder.
