Description

A small sandstone fort in the desert, built as an arena rather than as a hostage map. Crenellated walls close off a sandy floor; in the middle stands a wedge-shaped block of masonry with a red ladder up its flank, plank ramps lean against the parapets, a dark timber cube sits on a low platform, and a rectangular pool of clear water is sunk into the sand. Crates in green and yellow are stacked along the walls. On most shots the sun sits low and the sky is banded orange; one close view shows bright blue sky instead, so the lighting reads differently depending on where you stand.

The map measures 1920 × 2976 × 1486 units, compact for the engine but tall. There are 10 spawns per side, for 20 players. Despite the cs_ name there are no hostages, no rescue zones and no bomb sites: buy zones are marked for both sides and the guns lie on the floor, two M4A1, two AK-47, four SG 552 and two Scouts, which is what the round is actually about. Geometry is light at 2,379 faces and only 22 textures, all of them embedded in the .bsp, well under half the polygon count of de_dust2 (5,383 faces). Eight ladders and two water volumes. The archive also installs a .wad and a radar overview.
