Description
The blade is grey and broken into flat facets of light and dark, as if the steel had been redrawn as folded paper, and a magenta band runs along the lower edge from the guard to just short of the point. Angular glyph shapes in violet sit in the middle of the blade, and a magenta outline squares off the ricasso; the handle stays black. The M9 Bayonet is a fighting knife the US Army adopted in 1986, and paired with its scabbard it works as a wire cutter.
The view model holds 2,818 polygons against the stock knife’s 1,040, on 40 bones, under fourteen textures. Three are the stock hand maps of the game; ten split the knife into parts, the largest being the 200×989 and 204×1001 faces of the blade and a 68×800 strip for the grip wrap; and a 64×64 chrome map lays the mirrored sheen GoldSrc fakes on metal over the flat grey. The idle runs 360 frames, the draw 30 and each slash 36. The third-person model was rebuilt to 1,512 polygons where the stock one has 112, and nine knife sounds come with the archive. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
