Description
Deep blue holds the base of the blade and the sawback, then gives way to a mottled emerald across the middle and returns to blue at the point, the two colours meeting in soft patches rather than a clean line. Guard, grip and pommel are black, with a small round emblem near the ricasso. The M9 Bayonet is a fighting knife the US Army adopted in 1986, and its scabbard turns it into a wire cutter.
The view model holds 2,818 polygons against the stock knife’s 1,040, on 40 bones, under fourteen textures: the three stock hand maps of the game, ten separate pieces of the knife and a 64×64 chrome map for the mirrored sheen GoldSrc fakes on metal. The two faces of the blade take the largest share, at 200×989 and 204×1001, and the grip wrap gets a 68×800 strip. The idle runs 360 frames, the draw 30 and each slash 36. What other players see was rebuilt to 1,512 polygons where the stock third-person knife has 112, and nine knife sounds ship alongside. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
