Description
A base wedged into a snowbound rock gorge. Outside, the cliffs are blue-grey stone streaked with dark veins, the ground is unbroken snow, and the sky is bright blue with thin cloud: one frame faces a low concrete shed with a snow-loaded roof and icicles along the eaves, another a taller building of pale blocks with a pitched roof, a rusted vent grille and a steel door at the base. Inside it is dim: concrete corridors with metal grate floors and strip lamps, a row of big ventilation units with mesh guards over their fans, catwalks and stairs of grating with wire railings hung across a rock shaft, and a wooden loft with plank floors, heavy posts and rafters, a yellow ladder up to it and crates below. A hostage in a white suit waits by a window opening onto the snow.
The map is 6016 × 5044 × 3624 map units, and the vertical figure is the point: it is taller than de_aztec (2368) because the gorge and the shafts inside are read from top to bottom. Ten spawns per side seat 20 players. Three hostages and two rescue zones set the objective, there are no bomb sites, and both teams have buy zones of their own. Geometry runs to 11,140 faces on 75 textures, roughly twice the 5383 faces of de_dust2. Eighty-four breakable objects is a large number for a hostage map, and there are six ladders and twenty-three sprites; the archive installs four sprite files alongside the map.
