Description

A clenched fist gripping a knife, drawn sideways across the frame in white outline over dark grey, the blade stretching out to the right and the knuckles bunched at the left. Thin drips fall from the hand. The background is opaque black, so the wall takes a filled black square with the drawing on it.

A wad3 spray, 64x64 pixels. One pixel is one unit on the wall and a player in CS 1.6 is 72 units tall, so the square stops a little short of a player. The palette uses 229 of its 256 slots, all of it in the grey shading of the hand and the blade, and there is no transparency. The file is 6,296 bytes against the 16 KB tempdecal limit. The source page had a raw 8-bit logo instead of a ready .wad, so the .wad was packed from it. Two internet shortcuts came along in the archive.

How to install the spray

  1. Download the file and rename it to tempdecal.wad (keep the extension).
  2. Copy it into the cstrike folder of your game (…/Half-Life/cstrike), replacing the existing file.
  3. Set the file to read-only — otherwise the game overwrites it when you touch the logo settings.
  4. In game, press T (the spray key) to paint it on any wall.

The options menu shows the logo in one color — in the game itself the spray keeps all its colors.
