Description

A round grinning face in white outline over dark grey, its wide smile and heavy-lidded eyes filling most of the frame, with two smaller looping shapes to the lower left that read as clapping hands. Paint runs trail off the bottom edge. The background is opaque black, so the wall gets a filled black square with the face on it.

A wad3 spray, 64x64 pixels. One pixel is one unit on the wall and a CS 1.6 player is 72 units tall, so the square lands just under player height. The palette holds 229 of 256 entries, nearly all of it greys, and there is no transparency at all. The file is 6,296 bytes and sits well inside the 16 KB tempdecal limit. The source page carried a raw 8-bit logo rather than a finished .wad, so the .wad was packed from it. Two internet shortcuts came in the archive.

How to install the spray

  1. Download the file and rename it to tempdecal.wad (keep the extension).
  2. Copy it into the cstrike folder of your game (…/Half-Life/cstrike), replacing the existing file.
  3. Set the file to read-only — otherwise the game overwrites it when you touch the logo settings.
  4. In game, press T (the spray key) to paint it on any wall.

The options menu shows the logo in one color — in the game itself the spray keeps all its colors.
