Description
A pistol seen from the side takes up almost the whole frame, painted white with grey shading, and the word ECO! is stencilled in dark letters along the slide. A few thin runs drip from the barrel and the grip. The joke is about the eco round, when there is money for nothing better than a pistol. The background is opaque, so a solid black rectangle lands on the wall together with the gun.
Format wad3, 64×64 pixels. A pixel of the spray equals one unit on the wall, and a CS 1.6 player is 72 units tall, so the square comes up to about shoulder height. The palette holds 240 of its 256 entries, which is close to full, almost all of them greys. There is no transparency in the frame. The file weighs 6,296 bytes, far below the 16 KB tempdecal limit at which a server accepts the image as a player logo. The source page carried a raw 8-bit logo rather than a finished wad, so the wad was assembled from it; two internet shortcuts lay beside it in the archive.
How to install the spray
- Download the file and rename it to tempdecal.wad (keep the extension).
- Copy it into the cstrike folder of your game (…/Half-Life/cstrike), replacing the existing file.
- Set the file to read-only — otherwise the game overwrites it when you touch the logo settings.
- In game, press T (the spray key) to paint it on any wall.
The options menu shows the logo in one color — in the game itself the spray keeps all its colors.
