Description
The blade is bright turquoise with black blotches scattered over it, rounded and irregular, running from the guard out to the point and over the saw teeth on the spine. The guard, the grip and the pommel are black, and the hands are in plain black fingerless gloves. The M9 Bayonet has been the fighting knife of the US Army since 1986: it clamps onto a rifle, and together with its scabbard it works as a wire cutter.
The view model holds 2,818 polygons against the stock knife’s 1,040, on 40 bones, under fourteen textures. Three are the stock hand maps of the game; ten more take the knife apart, with 200×989 and 204×1001 maps for the two faces of the blade and a 68×800 strip along the grip; and a 64×64 chrome map adds the mirrored sheen GoldSrc fakes on metal. The idle runs 360 frames, the draw 30 and every slash 36. What other players see was rebuilt at 1,512 polygons where the stock third-person knife has 112, and the nine knife sounds ship with the archive. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
