Description
Reptile scales cover the blade in dark red, with an olive-yellow band and a black patch cutting across the middle and the red carrying on to the point; the saw teeth on the spine are picked out in the same olive. The guard, the grip and the pommel stay black, and the hands are in plain black fingerless gloves. The M9 Bayonet has been the fighting knife of the US Army since 1986: it clamps onto a rifle, and together with its scabbard it works as a wire cutter.
The view model holds 2,818 polygons against the stock knife’s 1,040, on 40 bones, under fourteen textures. Three are the stock hand maps of the game; the knife is split into ten pieces, among them 200×989 and 204×1001 maps for the two faces of the blade and a 68×800 strip for the edge of the grip; and a 64×64 chrome map adds the mirrored sheen GoldSrc fakes on metal. The idle runs 360 frames, the draw 30 and every slash 36. What other players see was rebuilt at 1,512 polygons where the stock third-person knife has 112, and the nine knife sounds are in the archive. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
