Description
Dark layered bands run the length of the blade, black over near-black, the pattern the finish is named for. The guard keeps the ring by which a bayonet slides onto a rifle barrel, and the handle stays just as dark.
The view model holds 2,879 polygons against the stock knife’s 1,040, on 38 bones, which is light work for the engine. Sixteen textures cover it, thirteen of them cut for the knife alone: the blade sides sit on long strips of 1024×177 and 1024×194, the spine on a 1024×94 sliver, and the hands keep the game’s own glove, finger and skin maps. There is no chrome map, so the sheen on the steel is painted. The idle runs 150 frames with an inspect in it. What other players see was rebuilt as well, at 2,202 polygons where the stock third-person knife has 112, and the archive carries the knife sound set. There is no dropped-knife model, so on the ground it stays standard.
