Description
A doubled version of the desert classic, built from the same parts as the original. Sandstone block walls with carved cornices, cobbled strips worn into packed sand, arched doorways closed by dark timber doors, and rocky ridges standing above the walls under a bright sky. One shot looks across the sunken bomb site: a low walled pit with green ammunition crates stacked on its floor and along its rim. Another runs down a narrow lane between two tall walls toward a row of arches, with a large painted panel hung high on the brickwork. A third takes a wide junction where short flights of steps climb to a raised terrace and a tunnel mouth opens in the far wall. The light is flat midday sun with almost no shadow.
The map measures 3200 × 4672 × 1024 units, slightly tighter on the ground than de_dust2 (4864 × 5600 × 960) and a little taller. Twenty counter-terrorist and twenty terrorist spawns seat 40 players in that space. There is one bomb site, no hostages and no rescue zones, and the map marks no buy zones of its own, so the engine places them at the spawns. Geometry stays light: 3,586 faces and 30 textures, five of them packed into the .bsp, against 5,383 faces and 44 textures in de_dust2. The sky is the desert set and there is no water. What the player can touch amounts to two breakable objects; twelve more non-solid brushes are there for detailing. The archive holds the .bsp alone.
