Description
A wide speech bubble outlined in white paint with a small cartoon skull inside it: cross-shaped eyes, a row of square teeth, and a thin drip hanging under the jaw. The bubble is empty apart from the skull, and its tail points down and to the left. The background is opaque black, so the wall takes a filled black square with the bubble drawn on it.
A wad3 spray of 64x64 pixels. One pixel is one unit on the wall and a player in CS 1.6 is 72 units tall, so the drawing prints a bit under player height. The palette is nearly exhausted at 246 of 256 colours, all of them greys from the airbrushed outline. Nothing is transparent. The file weighs 6,296 bytes and stays under the 16 KB tempdecal limit. The page held a raw 8-bit logo rather than a finished .wad, and the wad was assembled from it; two internet shortcuts were in the archive.
How to install the spray
- Download the file and rename it to tempdecal.wad (keep the extension).
- Copy it into the cstrike folder of your game (…/Half-Life/cstrike), replacing the existing file.
- Set the file to read-only — otherwise the game overwrites it when you touch the logo settings.
- In game, press T (the spray key) to paint it on any wall.
The options menu shows the logo in one color — in the game itself the spray keeps all its colors.
