Description

A tall white tag, the letters piled up in rounded loops that overlap each other so heavily that the word takes a second to resolve, with paint running off the bottom in long thin streaks. White strokes on black, nothing else. The background is opaque, so the wall gets a solid black rectangle carrying the tag instead of the letters alone.

A wad3 spray, 64x64 pixels. One pixel is one unit on the wall and a player in CS 1.6 is 72 units tall, so the square sits just under player height. The palette is almost full at 253 of 256 entries, taken up by the greys along every stroke edge, and there is no transparency. The file is 6,296 bytes and stays inside the 16 KB tempdecal limit. The source page carried a raw 8-bit logo rather than a finished .wad, so the .wad was packed from it. Two internet shortcuts came in the archive.

How to install the spray

  1. Download the file and rename it to tempdecal.wad (keep the extension).
  2. Copy it into the cstrike folder of your game (…/Half-Life/cstrike), replacing the existing file.
  3. Set the file to read-only — otherwise the game overwrites it when you touch the logo settings.
  4. In game, press T (the spray key) to paint it on any wall.

The options menu shows the logo in one color — in the game itself the spray keeps all its colors.
