Description
Bright green covers the blade, with a row of gold characters along the fuller, a brown inlay band beneath them and a gold serpent by the guard. Saw teeth run along the spine and an oval hole goes through the steel, while the guard and the chequered grip stay black. The M9 Bayonet is the fighting knife the US Army adopted in 1986: it mounts on a rifle, and with its scabbard it works as a wire cutter.
The view model holds 2,818 polygons against the stock knife’s 1,040, on 40 bones, which keeps it light, and 14 textures do the work: the stock hand maps, ten narrow strips for the parts of the knife, the tallest 204×1001, and a 64×64 chrome map, the size GoldSrc uses to put a mirrored sheen on metal. The third-person model was rebuilt at 1,512 polygons where the stock one has 112. The idle runs 360 frames. The archive carries no world model and no sounds, so on the ground the knife stays standard.
