Description
The upper floors of a skyscraper still under construction, the future World Bank building: bare concrete, plywood, scaffolding, stacked materials and open edges with the city far below. Counter-Terrorists enter on the 29th floor to stop the bombing, and there are no handrails at the drops. Both bomb sites sit among the girders and crates.
Barney built the base geometry in two 8-hour days, plus two more for tweaks and compiles, in WorldCraft 3.3 with Zoner's tools; the textures came from Telnets and Sm0e, and he named Die Hard and Hitchcock's Vertigo as the inspiration. The map joined the game in Counter-Strike 1.1. The footprint is the most compact of his official maps, 2880 × 2880 × 1280 units, with 16 spawns per side and two bomb sites; geometry is 6487 faces and 51 textures next to de_dust2's 5383 and 44. The archive installs the .bsp with de_vertigo.wad, the radar overview and a .nav file for the bots.
