Description
Another multiplied take on the desert map, kept in the original materials: pale sandstone blocks with carved bands, packed sand floors crossed by strips of cobble, arched wooden doors and shuttered windows, and grey mountains behind the walls under a partly clouded sky. One shot stands over the bomb site, a low walled platform with a red painted ring on the floor and green ammunition crates stacked on and below the ledge. Another looks along a narrow passage where a wooden crate is pushed against the wall beside an arch. A third steps back and shows a whole free-standing block of building surrounded by open sand on every side, with the tunnel arches on the far edge. Daylight, no shadows worth the name.
The map measures 3092 × 4346 × 758 units, more compact and noticeably lower than de_dust2 (4864 × 5600 × 960). Sixteen counter-terrorist and sixteen terrorist spawns seat 32 players. There is one bomb site, no hostages and no rescue zones, and the map marks no buy zones of its own, so the engine places them at the spawns. Geometry adds up to 4,064 faces and 24 textures, all of them packed into the .bsp, against 5,383 faces and 44 textures in de_dust2. The sky is the desert set and there is no water. Interactive parts are few: five breakable objects, plus eight non-solid brushes used for detailing. The archive holds the .bsp alone.
