Description
Sandstone walls, sand underfoot and rocky peaks over the parapets: the map is built entirely out of the desert set, and nothing in it points at the city its name names. One shot looks down into a walled courtyard with a cobbled ramp climbing to a raised terrace, red metal sheds and stacked crates along the sides, and a bomb site marked in red paint on the wall. Another shows a stone block with arcades and an awning of corrugated iron over green ammunition boxes. A third stands on a wide sandy street between arched passages, and a fourth is inside a boarded interior where a red target ring is painted on the plank floor. Bright daylight, hard shadows across the sand.
The map measures 3840 × 5440 × 832 units, close to de_dust in footprint (5584 × 6144 × 832) and of the same height. 20 counter-terrorist and 20 terrorist spawns seat 40 players. Four bomb site markers, no hostages, and buy zones are left to the engine, which puts them at the spawns. Geometry comes to 6,502 faces and 43 textures, none of them packed into the .bsp; de_dust2 gives 5,383 faces and 44 textures. Of the movable furniture there are only two ladder brushes, plus eleven non-solid pieces used for detail. Besides the .bsp the archive ships its own .wad of textures.
