Description

Aztec ruins deep in the jungle, in the middle of a downpour: grey stone walls with carved reliefs, tarpaulin-covered scaffolds, wooden walkways and a plank bridge over a flooded channel. One route crosses the water on that bridge, another goes underground through the double doors, and the rain hammers on every surface the whole round.

The second Aztec map by Chris Auty (Barney), replacing his earlier version; it shipped with Counter-Strike 1.0 in late 2000 after a two-week build and has stayed in the standard rotation ever since. The map measures 7328 × 4432 × 2368 units, with 16 CT and 18 T spawns and two bomb sites. Geometry comes to 6262 faces and 48 textures, next to de_dust2's 5383 and 44; eight breakables and five water volumes are in the entity list. The archive installs the .bsp together with de_aztec.wad, the radar overview and a .nav file for the bots.
