Description
A desert fort of pale sandstone, built from the same texture set as the stock dust maps. Wide walled courtyards open one into another through arched tunnels and broad flights of steps; floors alternate between smooth slabs, cobbles and bare sand, and every wall is finished with a carved ornamental band along the top. One shot takes a raised platform of light stone with a crate at its corner and jagged mountains behind the parapet; another looks along a sunken trench cut through the middle of a courtyard; a third shows a rectangular pit with a rubble bottom next to stacked green ammunition boxes and a bomb site painted in red; a fourth stands in a corner yard where a wide staircase climbs past a tower with an arched passage cut through its base. Bright midday sun, sharp shadow edges.
The map measures 3492 × 4294 × 870 units, a little smaller than de_dust2 (4864 × 5600 × 960). 16 counter-terrorist and 16 terrorist spawns seat 32 players. Two bomb sites, no hostages, and the map leaves buy zones to the engine, which sets them at the spawns. Geometry is moderate at 4,378 faces and 32 textures, four of them packed into the .bsp, against 5,383 faces and 44 textures in de_dust2. Fog is set up as an entity. Three ladder brushes and two breakable objects are the only things that move; twenty non-solid pieces carry the detailing. The archive holds the .bsp alone.
