Description

A hostage map built around a small block of houses under a city skyline. Indoors there is a games room with a pool table under a hooded lamp, mottled blue walls and a patterned carpet, its windows looking straight at the brick facade opposite. Outside, a cinderblock outbuilding with a blue plank gate and a stack of wooden crates stands on grass, and from the roofs of corrugated metal you look down through a skylight into an indoor pool tiled in black and white checker. Tiled hip roofs and brick tenements fill in the rest.

The map is 2356 × 2080 × 784 map units. At 8,824 faces and 135 textures it is heavier than de_dust2, which the same parser reads as 5,383 faces and 44 textures. Fourteen spawns per side seat 28 players. Four hostages and three rescue zones set the objective; there are no bomb sites and no built-in buy zones, so the engine puts buying at the spawns. The interiors are full of things that give: 47 breakable objects, 8 ladders, 3 pushable crates and a door, with the pool as a real water volume. The archive ships one texture pack of its own, 51school.wad.
